There is nothing like the anticipation of having a new baby, getting the nursery finished, the car seat and stroller set up, your bags packed, etc. or nothing more joyous of the moment your child is being born and the first moments of being home with a new baby! If I could relive those moments every day, I would! We all look forward to the newborn stage, the fresh baby smell, the chubby cheeks, the cute clothes, everything except cradle cap!
I mean how often do you hear about cradle cap anyways? Over 200,000 babies in the US have it every year, and we hardly hear about it! What is cradle cap? It’s just some crusty or oil patches of skin on your babies head! And if your baby is as bald as mine, you’ll notice it! And it’s not very pleasant looking either!
With my two older kids, they had full sets of hair, so their cradle cap rarely bothered me at all. Well, I’m not joking. With Xander, he has seems to have it since he was born. I mean, it comes and goes. And I want to talk to you all about the three things I have used on him that make it go away!
1. Mustela baby shampoo– This foam shampoo is like a genie in a bottle (literally). It’s a foamy type soap, and I only need to apply a tiny bit to his head during bath time!
2. Mustela Bath oil- I mean seriously, who doesn’t love a good oil? I started using a little bit of this bath oil on Xander’s head 30 minutes before bath time, and it has worked magic! his
3. A soft baby brush- While you are applying the Mustela baby shampoo, gently massage your babies head with a soft bristle brush. This will help your babies cradle cap come right off.
Pretty simple, right? I promise it is! It helped cure my son’s cradle cap within a few times doing this method. I still do this every once in a while to prevent it from coming back, and plus my son loves getting the royal treatment during bath time.
