Yesterday I was in the middle of vacuuming the mess the kids made with their bag of chips, and my vacuum just wouldn’t pick some of the pieces up. Frustrated, I decided to take my vacuum apart and realized that it was completely clogged up and was needing my TLC!
When I’m cleaning, I often forget that the things I clean with on a daily basis need cleaning, too! So, I decided to dig deeper and do a deep clean to my vacuum, and after about 30 minutes of cleaning it out, I had a brand new vacuum!
Here are a few things you can do to deep clean your vacuum! I know that all vacuums are different, so this is a basic guide to getting your vacuum brand new again!
Please make sure to unplug your vacuum before you decide to clean it!
GIVE YOUR VACUUM A GOOD WIPE DOWN
Use a wipe or a wet cloth and wipe down your dusty vacuum! It will make you feel a whole lot cleaner!
CLEAN THE FILTERS
I do this weekly; I will empty out the vacuum filter and wash the canister with soap.
GET DOWN AND DIRTY
Grab a screwdriver and take apart the bottom of your vacuum!
GET AN EMPTY GROCERY BAG
You will need an empty grocery bag to put all the hair and stuff you find in your vacuum.
CLEAN THE BRUSH ROLLER
This is the worst part of the vacuum because I loose so much hair throughout the day that my poor vacuum eats it all up.
CHECK VACUUM HOSE FOR CLOG
I took apart my vacuum hose and didn’t realize how much stuff was stuck up there! Grab a screw driver or butter knife, or even a long wire hanger and mess around with it to get all the gunk from there!
