Nowadays everything on my body is just so sore and achy! I find myself always trying to find a way to get comfortable, and most days I’m just too sore to get up and do my regular day to day chores. Bending over, and squatting down are starting to become a serious task.
Here are a few of my personal and simple tips to get yourself more comfortable later in your pregnancy:
STRETCH EVERY MORNING & NIGHT
I find my body way more relaxed throughout the day and at night, when I stretch right when I wake up, and right before I go to sleep. My body is so restless at night, so stretching out my legs and back helps wonders to relax me. – Another amazing thing, if you’re into it, is Yoga!
WEAR MATERNITY CLOTHES
You don’t necessarily need Maternity wear, but definitely wear items that are stretchy around the waste, and not too tight around your belly and legs. I find my days way more relaxing when I am wearing maternity shorts than my regular denim shorts. You will have an easier time maneuvering around the house, and more flexible to do your day to day tasks.
INVEST IN A PREGNANCY PILLOW
The day I found out I was pregnant I went online and purchased a pregnancy pillow. This has been me all time life savor, and I couldn’t imagine sleeping a night without it. My pregnancy pillow supports my hips and back where I need it the most. I fall asleep so comfortable and I wake up feeling refreshed. NOTE: If your husband is anything like mine, this will be his least favorite thing, because there is always a barrier in between us… Sorry hun! Only 4 more months, I promise.
USE ESSENTIAL OILS
I never used oils with any of my other pregnancies, So when I started using oils with baby #3. I was ultimately upset that I never used these before, I am a firm believer that oils are good for your body and soul. READ MORE ON SPECIFICALLY WHAT OILS I USE DURING THIS PREGNANCY: CLICK HERE
GET AS MANY MASSAGES AS YOU CAN
I’m probably the biggest pain when It comes to asking my husband for a back massage, I literally ask him every night but it helps relieve some of the weirdest pains I get throughout the day, and it helps me sleep even better as well. Don’t be afraid to ask your partner for a back massage every once in a while… In my case, every night. After all, you are carrying their child. 😉
TAKE A FEW MINUTES (OR HOURS) TO YOURSELF
I normally like to have my quiet time in the morning, and that’s before the kids are awake, and I am able to sit and enjoy my coffee in peace. I find silence the best medicine to everything and it’s always better to start your day off on a positive note. If you’re a night owl, take a few hours to take a soothing bath OR just turn off the tv and read a book. You will feel so relaxed and at ease with almost everything.
PAMPER YOURSELF DAILY OR WEEKLY.
Whether it’s your favorite face mask, or belly butter. Take the time to care for your body. Take a few minutes of your day or week to shower and use whatever safe body products you enjoy most. Nothing is better than to feel refreshed and clean.
DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP
If you’re like me, you’re always on your feet. From dusk till dawn. I feel like by the end of the day my feet feel swollen and my back just kills me! Don’t be afraid to put your feet up throughout the day and ask for help. If you have kids like me, they are the biggest help. From handing me a glass of water to helping themselves. I find it easy to catch a break when my kids are willing to do things for themselves every once in a while.
